What would you do without Marcus? Fantasy League Round 2

Congratulations to Sven who topped the weekly points scorers for Round 2. An interesting week with only a few of the last rounds big scorers making it into the top places and some big numbers were achieved by players from the lower places.

This is reflected in some of the changes on the Overall Leader Board as Mozza jumps up 12 places from 19th to 7th and Garreth from 18th up to 10th and we also see changes at the top where Potter, Cluckie and Kerrison have all gone above the early leader, Will.

Just about all of the top 20 scorers had Marcus Smith in their squad and the clever ones who made him skipper amassed a huge 260 points for the one player.

Interestingly Back, sack and Ntamack, also selected Smith, which shows that the name doesn’t reflect their true allegiance!

Some of the low scorers had the misfortune of selecting Jack Nowell, who, after looking very good at the start of the game for England was injured and only lasted 16 minutes having already gained 27 points. There were some points missed there (and I’d made him my skipper!)

Elsewhere, the French players continue to give a good return on selection, with the Irish also doing well. Scotland and Wales sit at the foot of the Top Ten Average points table, whilst not surprisingly, the Italian players struggle to make the top 30.

A two week break gives everyone time to rest and consider their next selection, and decide who really are the favourites for the title? France have to travel to Scotland, whilst England host the Welsh and Italy have to travel to Ireland. No doubt the biggest points scorer will be at the Aviva stadium, but will it be a forward or a back, a winger or a fly half?

Just 100 points separate the top 5 after two rounds, but the choices for the next round could have a big influence!
