Our head coach is Des Lloyd, a level 2 coach who also captain for Swaffham pedlars, and is one of our youth chairs. has joined forces with Dan Bird (welshie)to develop these young lads and prepare these lads for senior rugby. they are assisted by a number of coaches this year.
“I have been with these guys since they were U9s. During this time I have seen players and parents come and go, and have seen the young players who have remained improve their skills, attitude and performance. There were many positives last season this is due to having a whole new club structure of playing; to see these players take part in as many games in one season and every week get better and better, while still walking away wanting more is encouragement not only for them but for us as coaches.
Obviously the support also comes from the parents who take their young players to training and matches and can always be heard supporting their young team. We hope to see more this season and from a personal view it is great to see the parental support and commitment as this also reflects on the young men we have playing for us.
There is always room for new players and we are always looking forward to new additions whatever their skill level, either from those who have never played to experienced players. We always allow new players to join in with matches after initial training, as we know that these young men prove themselves on the pitch, and this creates a fantastic team bond that we are really proud of from our youth team.”
