After a break of almost 9 months a dinner was hosted at the Club on Saturday to watch the rescheduled final day of the 2020 Six Nations Championship.
Careful planning and meticulous attention to detail by Eric Nye meant that 28 people could be accommodated respecting government Coronavus guidance – a significant reduction on the number who have attended meals at the Club in the past!
For many it was the first time to appreciate the results of work lead by Eric which has gone on during the summer to refurbish the entrance to the Clubhouse and the toilets.
The event was hosted by our Chairman Richard Morrissey and even though numbers were reduced, both the Raffle and ‘Heads and Tails’ were as enjoyable as ever.
Rob Salter and his team served up a delicious four course meal between the Italy v England and France v Ireland games. Marie and Ali did a great job in keeping participants well lubricated during the event.
Thanks to Eric, Rob, Marie, Ali for making this a very enjoyable event for all.
Special thanks go to France and Ireland for keeping the English supporters on the edge of their seats right to the end of their game, and producing a result which allowed England to win the Championship!
