Fantasy League – Round One

While the results of the first weekend were fairly predictable, France failed to run up a big score as many were expecting. England/Scotland provided some excitement as the lead changed hands several times, but Ireland showed their class, dominating the first half and then relaxing to allow the Welsh get some points.

All this is fairly irrelevant in the Fantasy League because its all about guessing who’s going to score points. Its not always the try scorers. With 17 tries scored in the first weekend, Dan Cooper was our best, and managed to predict 7, but that wasn’t even enough to get him into the top 5!

The man to pick this weekend was the well-known Scotsman Duhan van der Merwe! With 2 tries and over 100 metres carried, he amassed 89.8 points. Make him your Captain and you get double points plus 20, which would have given you 199.6 points from one player! That would allow you to pick Owen Farrell (26.2), and still be well off!

The weekly prize on offer this year is a £25 voucher for the Club shop – but you have to be a paid up member to claim.
